The Know-It-All

"The Know-It-All"

In front of everyone tall glasses sit
Potential to be full with 6 wit
Some have 1
Others have 2
Most have 3
But One has 4

This One convinced of fullness complete
Deceives the others that its glass is at its peak.
Ultimately in vain conceit, it is the One who is deceived.
Though much has been received,
Though One has more than Most,
The glass is not wholly filled
It is lacking still.

No one can know everything
Everyone can know something.
Why does One pretend to have all the answers
And Some pretend to know nothing at all?

Together there is greater fullness
Then everyone apart,
Even a whit of wit is not small
When combined with them all.

Why do the Others blame
the One who knows more
But knows not all?
As if the One were omniscient
And omnicompetent.
Everyone fails at something
Everyone’s ignorant of something
Even the smartest one messes up.
